STEM Publishing is looking for an Editorial Assistant / Graphic Designer to support editorial and visual content production for STEM journals and healthcare and scientific publishing projects. The role is full-time freelance, fully remote, and combines English-language editing with scientific figure and visual design work in Figma.
Role and responsibilities
The successful candidate will work on editorial and design-related tasks, preparing written and visual content for academic, scientific and professional audiences.
- Edit, recreate and adapt diagrams, figures and visual materials in Figma for STEM journal articles.
- Improve the clarity, consistency and visual quality of scientific figures.
- Rewrite and edit short news stories in English.
- Edit journal article content in English for clarity, structure and readability.
- Support the preparation of editorial and publishing materials.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency and attention to detail across text and visuals.
- Learn and apply standards used in academic and scientific publishing.

Nice to have
- French language skills.
